Meet Larry Van Den Berg, IT Manager and Web Developer Extraordinaire. For today’s tour, we’re taking a peek inside our server room, where he and his team are responsible for all of Excel’s IT, database and web administration. But apart from keeping our IT running smoothly, the other half of Larry’s role at Excel is the development and management of over 1,000 external web site customers through Excel’s Service-Life and Homeschool-Life web divisions. Containing close to 65,000+ users, these sites are located all over the U.S., Canada, Germany, Saudi Arabia and Trinidad. Over 1 million emails are processed each week for these membership websites, and on average we add a new web site every 3 days. Interested in web building tools and our CMS services? Today’s tour takes a look at the Gallery, our hub here at Excel. The gallery is a place for employees to grab coffee, take a break for lunch, shoot a game of pool or catch up with their coworkers. It also serves as the perfect setting for informal meetings, company events and friendly gatherings. This room was one of the highlights of our renovation last year, and we’re excited about what it offers our employees!
Today, Excel welcomes our newest employee, Ryan Georg. Ryan previously worked as an intern for Excel and will be joining our Light Gauge group. Today’s Tour of Excel takes a look into our Light Gauge/Cold Formed Steel department. This area of Excel is run by over 20 employees who average around 600 jobs annually. These associates provide engineered shop drawings and calculations for all of the structural steel stud framing of a project, which may include exterior and interior walls, floors and roof elements. They also provide panelization drawings that allow contractors to prefabricate their walls offsite in order to save time during construction. Want to know more?
