Fond du Lac, WI − Excel Engineering welcomes Elizabeth Schummer to the Civil Design Team. She is a recent graduate from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Douglas Elgersma graduated in May with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from MSOE. Doug interned with Excel and is working fulltime with the MEP group since June 1st.
Jake Reis graduated in May with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from MSOE. Jake interned with Excel and is now working fulltime with the MEP group since June 6th.
Joshua Wilsmann graduated in May with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from MSOE. Josh had interned with Excel and is now working fulltime as of June 13th with the Light Gage Dept.
Lori Janus graduated in May with an Associate Degree in Architectural Technology from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. She started working with the Light Gage Dept. August 15th.
Allen Cunningham graduated in May with an Associate Degree in Architectural Technology from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. He started working yesterday with the Architectural Group II.
Kelly Hodgden graduated with an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering – Structural from Moraine Park Technical College. For the last 4 years she has worked with Ramaker & Associates, Inc. She will begin working with the architecture Group I in September.
Three area students have been awarded scholarships from Excel Engineering, Inc.
Tyler Jansen of Waupun was awarded a $4,000 scholarship. Jansen graduated from Central Wisconsin Christian School and plans to attend Dordt College and pursue a career in the Civil Engineering field. His parents are Dale and Jean Jansen.
Twin brothers, Jacob and Joshua Trapp of Green Lake were also awarded scholarships. They graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy on May 29 and both plan to attend the University of Wisconsin Platteville. Jacob will receive a $4,000 scholarship and plans to study Electrical, Mechanical and Physics Engineering. Joshua will receive a $2,000 scholarship and plans to pursue Civil Engineering. Their parents are Jerome and Debra Trapp.
Scholarship recipients were chosen from among area high school seniors who plan to further their education in an Architectural, Engineering, Surveying or CAD Technician field. Each Spring, Excel notifies all area high schools to recruit applicants. This year Excel received applications from students of Campbellsport High School, Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Central Wisconsin Christian School, Fond du Lac High School and Horace Mann High School.

Kurt Barnard has been promoted to Senior Project Manager. Kurt has been with Excel since 1999 working as the Electrical Department Manager. He holds a bachelor degree from UW-Platteville. Kurt has extensive experience giving him considerable expertise in electrical design for a broad range of projects.
Jonathan Brinkley has been promoted to Project Manager. Jonathan has been with Excel since 2008. He is registered as an Engineer and Architect in the state of Wisconsin, and holds a bachelor degree from MSOE. His responsibilities focus on the management of architectural design projects.
Jason Daye has been promoted to Project Manager. Jason has been with Excel since 2003. He specializes in site design for commercial, industrial and institutional developments. Jason is a registered Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from UW-Platteville.
Jeff Kreinke has been promoted to Project Manager. Jeff has been with Excel since 2001. He is responsible for structural engineering in the areas of wood, masonry, concrete, structural steel and light gauge steel. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UW-Madison.
Tim Tolley has been promoted to Senior Project Manager for the process engineering group. Tim has been with Excel since 2008. He has the responsibility of managing the project to meet the customer’s goals for on time on budget deliveries. He has over 15 years of project management experience in Dairy, Food Processing and General Manufacturing. He holds a chemical engineering degree from the University of Swansea-UK.
